Why A Good Social Life is Important to Our Health:

Humans evolved, living in small communities, relying on one another for support to survive. This has given us a natural need to connect with other people, share our thoughts and feelings, and experience the comfort of being accepted for who we are.

Technology has changed how people interact with others, but it hasn’t taken away our need to form meaningful connections. Studies have shown that those with strong social ties are more likely to live longer, healthier lives.

Understanding Our Social Needs

Social life doesn’t have to mean big parties and nights out – it can also mean sharing meals, engaging in intellectual discussions, or spending time with family.  Your goal is to create meaningful relationships and foster real connections.

Our unique physical, physiological, and hormonal tendencies affect our social preferences.  These differences are real and rooted in your genetics, so it’s important to accept yourself and not feel pressure to put up an act.

If you are unsure what you need, you will need to explore different situations to see what feels best for you. We also have technology like Shae that we use in our gym that can help. By looking at your phenotype (observable characteristics like height, eye colour, etc), we can gain lots of insights about your body and offer completely personal advice.

Creating Our Optimal Social Life:

Once we know ourselves and what is important, we can create a lifestyle aligned with our bodies’ needs and maximise our health.  You need to be proactive about seeking out social connections that are meaningful and fulfilling.

Start by spending time with people who make you feel supported and accepted for who you are, and be mindful of the people you surround yourself with. Avoid situations that bring out the worst in you, and focus on fostering relationships with people who will motivate and inspire you.

Generally, we get along better with people with similar interests and values, so joining a group or club can help you meet new people who share these commonalities—everyone who joins our gym trains in classes designed for their body types. One benefit is that training alongside people like us creates a great supportive environment.
